Kevin Youkilis agrees to one-year, $12-million deal with Yankees

Kevin Youkilis, a former Red Sox who Yankees' fans loved to hate, is now one of them after agreeing to a one-year deal.

For the better part of the last nine years, as a member of the hated Boston Red Sox, Kevin Youkilis got under the skin of the Yankees and their fans. His propensity to dive out over the plate and glare at umpires who dared to call a borderline strike against him, combined with his ability to get on base and deliver big hits made him Public Enemy No. 1.

The considerable disdain for Youkilis was punctuated by reliever Joba Chamberlain, who took it upon himself to throw up and in to the Red Sox third baseman on many occasions.   Read more
